To Sun Holiday Tours: 

Eight of us have just completed a 2-week stay at Sol Aloha Puerto, Torremolinos, Spain. 

We agree that it has been one of the best vacations ever – and we all have traveled extensively. 

Our host, Antonio Arjona, entertained us magnificently with the historical background and folklore of each site.  His kindness and attention to details was exceptional. 

For some of us, who had come before with Charles Gruppe, it was our 6th trip with Sun Holidays.  For others, it was the first or second trip. But we all agreed it will not be our last. 

Thank you again for providing us with such an enjoyable and reasonable vacation.

our expectations, clean, comfortable, centrally located. Our trip to Morocco

Just wanted to send a note of thanks to you.  We just got home from Costa de Sol area in Spain.  Our stay in the Sol Aloha Puerto Hotel was wonderful.  We had a great three week vacation there.  We would highly recommend it to anyone.  What a delight the nightly shows are. One night a two some playing instruments for dancing to and the next night professional group shows that one would spend a lot of money to go to in the States.   We looked forward to each show in the evening.  The tours that came with the package were excellent.  Three more trips were bought so we would cover more area.  And what a gorgeous area it is.   Thanks for putting together a wonderful package.

Dear Sir:

I just returned from a family reunion trip to Costa del Sol and wanted to let you know how wonderful the experience was. As this was my first time arranging travel for a group, your company made what I thought would be a daunting task both easy and enjoyable. I want to be sure to give special kudos to your groups department--especially to Jennifer. She handled all of my tasks with such professionalism and warmth. She is a first rate employee and an asset to your organization.

Once we arrived in Spain, we were greeted like guests by your staff in Malaga. Transfers were handled with ease and our rooms at the Sol Aloha Puerto were beautiful. Everything was superb-from your staff at the hotel to the fantastic tours and, of course, the hotel. The food was delicious as well. We have some picky eaters in our group who always managed to find many choices on the buffet. I don't know how you are able to offer these trips at such low prices, but thank you to all. You have given our family an amazing experience. We are all looking forward to our next trip with Sun Holidays!

I am writing to you today to inform you of the wonderful experience that we had this year. Firstly, we were able to partake in three new tours that have been added to the choice of trips that are offered. I now feel that Sun Holidays does want repeat visits by their clientele. Secondly, we would also like to inform you that the Program Director, Antonio Arjona, in Torremolinos was a delight. He showed interest in the participants of the tours, interest in whatever concerns they might have had, and, it seems to us, he took delight in presenting historical synopses in each of the areas we visited. Karen Quigley, Senior Hostess and a representative of your firm remains warm, caring and concerned with a guest's smallest concern. In the past six years, she has not changed her attitude concerning a first- or multi-year vacationer.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. It was primarily written to inform you that at least one of your customers appreciates the service that you offer vacationers. Additionally, we feel that praise and positive criticism, for jobs well done deserves at least equal time with negative criticism. We hope you forward our feelings to both Karen and Antonio. We would like you to know that we anticipate returning to Torremolinos and perhaps other Sun Holidays for as long as we are both physically able to travel.

We had a medical emergency while on vacation in Spain, and we wish to express our appreciation for the care we received from Karen Quigley, the Sun Holidays Representative at the Aloha Puerto Hotel in Torremolinos, Spain. 

We were supposed to stay for six weeks from January 15 to February 26th, but on Sunday February 1s, my husband experienced the beginnings of a retina detachment, and on the advice of the retina surgeon at Malaga University Hospital, we flew home to Chicago February 4 and my husband had retina surgery February 5th. His vision was saved and he is doing fine. 

Karen got us an English-speaking doctor who would come to the hotel on Sunday. She took care of canceling our scheduled side trips for us. She arranged for wheelchair service to be provided at all three airports, Malaga, Madrid and Chicago. She arranged for the taxi to the airport. 

We said goodbye to her late the night before, but when we arrived at the airport at 6:30 in the morning, Karen was there! 

She shepherded us through changing the paperwork on our tickets, going through customs, and didn’t leave us until she knew the wheelchair people would take care of us. Then she went to the hotel to start her regular workday! 

We would also like to thank Jennifer, the Sun Holidays agent we talked to on the phone for her patient and thoughtful help. 

We are already looking forward to going back to Spain next January.

We are continually impressed by her courtesy, her quiet professional manner and downright “saintly” patience with hurried and rude guests. Of course, there is no excuse for crude behavior but, unfortunately, many travelers show their worst side at ANY inconvenience - and we have witnessed Karen being as close to verbally abused as it gets- and efficiently and quietly diffuse the situation. 

I know that you know she is a gem of highest quality so please take a minute to express our thanks to her and her staff. We look forward to seeing Karen again soon."

Dear Mr. Bonnemaison,

I would like to take a moment to express my thanks and appreciation for your talented and charming staff just returning from a 2 week stay where I accompanied my mother on a painting holiday to the Costa del Sol. Most outstanding was the expertise of Sr. Antonio Arjona. His eloquent knowledge of the area, love of history and the Arts and impassioned anecdotes enriched my experience of the culture and the region. He consistently anticipated every question and need, with intelligent humor and ease. Sr. Arjona excels in his chosen profession and his sincere enthusiasm is contagious. In addition, I understand his exceptional professional reputation facilitated an official welcome and entrance fee waiver from the curator of the museum in Antequera, benefiting our entire group. Accomplished guide and translator, historian and artist, Sr. Arjona is also a detective worthy of distinction. I came to personally value his persistent efficiency when I left my wallet behind in Ronda. Upon my discovery, Sr. Arjona calmly worked his magic and through a series of many phone calls and events, his sleuthing was successful. Not a small feat, as the place where I had last shopped was not listed in the phone book, neither did I have it's name, nor address. Antonio graciously enlisted the assistance of his personal friends in Ronda who came to my aid, after contact with local authorities did not prove fruitful. Miraculously, the wallet arrived by courier to the Sol Aloha Puerto hotel the following morning completely intact - my documents, credit cards and euros were untouched. You have a unique and valuable asset in Sr. Arjona as part of your team. He has my deepest gratitude and respect. I do not wish to forget to sing the praises of Ms. Karen Quigley who greeted us at every turn with competence and hospitality. She was our first contact with a Sun Holidays representative and skillfully shepherded weary travelers to the hotel upon our arrival in Malaga. She was available thereafter with regularity and with subtle consideration, Karen generously allowed us to feel as if we were discovering new excitement for ourselves as she artfully answered our questions and gently steered us to all the right places. She is a lovely person and I will not forget my last morning in Spain. Ready for departure, Ms. Quigley was right there by our bus, directing traffic. The sun was just beginning to rise and I remarked on the beauty of the new day. Smiling, she cheerfully responded, "I just love the early morning". Even after 2 weeks of fielding our group's never ending trials and tribulations, I believed she loved not only the dawn, but her profession as well. Your company and customers are indeed fortunate - Sr. Arjona and Ms. Quigley are simply wonderful. Thank you Sun Holidays and staff for a memorable Andalusian adventure.

These things alone would have made the trip a very nice value. What truly made the vacation worth repeating, were the people. Everyone, guests and staff, were so friendly and pleasant. The reason for my letter is one of your employees. Karen always had a smile and greeting for everyone. She even searched out her guests and made sure everything was ok. Why Karen did this, I guess, separate the people that 'work' for you and the people that 'make' your company. Being a small businessman that only employs a couple of hundred employees, I really understand the value of the great ones...

I am enclosing, in part, a message sent to Karen Quigley, your Sun Holiday representative in Torremolinos, Spain, expressing my gratitude for her resolving a potentially disastrous problem of missing return airline tickets and her continued outstanding performance. Since our first travels with Sun Holidays in 1998 she has been simply outstanding in her competence in handling our travel problems coupled with her charm to make you feel good. In my view she is one of the best spokesperson your organization can have for ensuring your future business. I did overlook mentioning that all of the Sun Holidays personnel from the reservation staff, hotel reps, hotel staff, airport pickup, and tour guides were outstanding and why we like to travel with your group. Incidentally, I sent a letter to Karen mailed to the Sol Timor but misspelled her last name. I trust that she will receive it. Enjoyed our trip this year. Hope we can do it again next year.

We just had the best time of our lives in Spain and we want to do it again. Marisa, the tour guide was a wonder guide and very helpful. Jesus, the bus driver, is the best I have ever seen. The trip was great. We had a very good time. The optional tour to Mijas was very nice - a charming tour. I liked Gibraltar, going to the top of the Rock and visiting St Michael's Cave. Also enjoyed Torremolinos and Marbella. In other words I liked everything; there are so many interesting things to see that it is hard to choose. You get a lot for the price.
