Greece Where History Begins

Day 1 - Thursday: USA - Athens, Greece
Board your overnight flight to Athens.

Day 2 - Friday:  Glyfada
After your morning arrival at Athens airport , our representatives will meet you and transport you to the nearby beach resort of Glyfada. This upscale area offers a perfect location along the Apollo Coast. Remainder of your day is at leisure to relax and explore. Dinner and overnight at the 4* Fenix hotel.

Days 3-8 - Saturday thru Thursday: Glyfada
Days ay leisure to enjoy the charms of this seaside destination and learn about the Greek culture, its peoples, great shopping, and delicious food and wines. Optional tours available onsite.

Day 9 - Friday: Athens
Transfer from Glyfada to your hotel in Athens and a half-day sightseeing tour of Athens. You will see the center of the city, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Houses of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library. As we drive down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniforms and the Residential Palace. On our way to Acropolis you will see the Panathenaic Stadium. This is where the first Olympic games of the modern era were held in 1896. You will also visit the Temple of the Olympian Zeus and Adrian’s Arch, and then finally the Acropolis including the famous Parthenon. Overnight in Athens.

Day 10 Saturday: Athens – Epidaurus-Mycenae-Olympia

Departure at 08:30 a.m.

Leave by the coastal road to the Corinth canal and on to visit the Theater of Epidaurus famous for its acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nauplion (short stop) and on to Mycenae to visit the Archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Later depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnesus and the Towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic games. Dinner and overnight at your A-Class hotel in Olympia.

Day 11 Sunday: Olympia - Delphi

In the morning visit the Archaeological site holding the sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Then drive on through the plains of Iliad and Achaia passing over the magnificent bridge, which crosses the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass the picturesque towns of Naypactos and Itea before arriving in Delphi. Dinner and overnight at your A-Class hotel in Delphi.

Day 12 Monday: Delphi-Kalambaka-Meteora

After breakfast we will visit the archaeological site and the museum at Delphi Depart for Kalambaka, a small town located at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora's gigantic rocks. Dinner and overnight at your A-Class hotel in Kalambaka.

Day 13 Tuesday: Meteora-Athens

Today we will visit the striking scenery of Meteora, perched on top of huge rocks, which seem to be suspended in midair holding ageless Monasteries. Here you’ll b able to see exquisite samples of Byzantine art. Depart from Kalambaka and drive through Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae. (Visiting the Leonidaís monument) to arrive in Athens early in the evening. Overnight at your hotel in Athens.

Day 14 Wednesday: Athens

Day at leisure in Athens to further explore this ancient town and do your last minute shopping. Overnight at your hotel in Athens.

Day 15-Thursday: Athens-USA
After breakfast, transfer to Athens airport for your return flight, arriving later today.
